Discover the magic of wandering the birch forests of the Umbrian Appenine mountains in search of the delicious and perfumed Italian black truffle. Luca, an expert truffle hunter and part of the Montefalco Mob team, is our guide as we follow his dogs as they sniff out the truffles hidden amongst the roots of centuries-old oaks and silvery birch trees.

There is nothing quite like the scent of a freshly dug truffle! We collect truffles as we go with plenty of time to enjoy beautiful views in every direction, fresh air, and soak up the atmosphere of a traditional Italian way of life. We also visit the peaceful and ancient village of Pettino, Luca’s hometown.

When the hunt is over we join a local family for lunch with truffles used the traditional way. It’s delicious, authentic and great fun! Excellent Montefalco wine is included.
