A cooking lesson, an excursion into some stunning countryside, a great day out with the locals… a Wild Foods Gastronomical Adventure is something you’ll never forget. You”ll spend a day in the company of real Italians, fully immersing yourself into true Italian culture.

Guided by one of the local Chiacchiarini family we take to the beautiful Umbrian countryside in search of any number of traditional ‘wild’ delicacies, whatever’s in abundance depending on the season. Exploring Montefalco’s olive groves, country lanes and stands of centuries-old oaks we might hunt for wild asparagus or rocket.

Or meandering over Pettino’s mountain pastures we might search for black truffles and porcini mushrooms. When our guide decides we have enough for lunch it’s back to the farmhouse to learn how to transform them into authentic Umbrian dishes.

Together with Mamma prepare a number of dishes from fresh pasta to truffle frittata. It’s great fun, interesting and very informal – beyond honing your Italian cooking knowledge it’s a great introduction to traditional Umbrian living. To go with lunch all the wine you can drink!

This experience is great not only for people who are passionate about cooking, but also for people who want to experience Umbrian country life, or just spend a day relaxing soaking up the local atmosphere over a glass of wine or two – great for men and women, young and old!

We pick you up at 9:30 am and take you back anytime after lunch, usually around 3 or 4 pm.
